Richard Look Kin now head of risk management at NCB Financial Group

 NCB Financial Group Limited (NCBFG) on December 5 announced Richard Look Kin as new Head of Group Risk Management for NCBFG and National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ), effective December 4, 2024.



He will have portfolio oversight for the group which at the end of financial year in September 2024 held total assets of J$2.32 trillion.

NCB Financial Group Limited, together with its subsidiaries, provides various banking products and services in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Dutch Antilles, Bermuda, and internationally.

In 2024, the group reported revenue of J $120.01 billion, a decrease of -12.57 per cent compared to the previous year's J$137.26 billion. Earnings were 15.02 billion, an increase of 97.85 per cent.

Look Kin replaces Allison Wynter, Group Chief Risk Officer – NCBFG and Chief Risk Officer – NCBJ. NCBFG indicates that Wynter will continue to provide support through a transition period.

NCBFG said Look Kin has over two decades of experience in the financial services sector across the Caribbean including enterprise risk management, investment management and corporate and investment banking.

Previously Look Kin was Risk Manager at The Belize Bank Limited (BBL) which is described as the largest full service commercial banking operation in Belize providing banking and financial services to both domestic and international customers.

As of March 2024, BBL had over BZ$2.1 billion in assets and BZ$272.4 million of capital reserves. It claims a 38.7 per cent market share in loans and 42.1 per cent market share in deposits

Look Kin joined the Belize Bank in April 2023 as Chief Risk Officer. Look Kin has held management positions at a number of financial institutions including Citibank, RBTT Bank, the Caribbean Development Bank, First Citizens Bank and First Citizens Investment Services.

He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) and also completed his Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has completed the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) examinations. As Chief Risk Officer, at BBL he was responsible for the governance of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management framework.
