Boxpert sets its cap for a greater share of the sustainable lunch box and food packaging market
Globally, the demand for sustainable is on the upswing. The market was
valued at USD 283.37 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 305.19 billion in 2025. Altogether, the sustainable packaging market is expected
to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6 per cent between 2023 and 2032.

Limited indicates that the company has invested over significantly to secure the
proper machinery and raw materials needed for production, we are now able to
mass produce, manufacturing hundreds of boxes within a minute from any of our
manufacturing machines.
“The demand for eco-friendly packaging continues to be
driven by consumer awareness and the need for environmentally responsible
products as well as Government regulations and incentives to encourage the use
of eco-friendly packaging,” the company states.
Launched officially in 2024,
Boxpert is a Jamaican company specializing in the production and printing of
paperboard and kraft paper packaging.
The four-year-old business, which made its official
debut after product testing carries a
line of lunch boxes in single or double
comparts with designs for various usages including stew and curried goat.
Hutchinson says, “Since its
inception, the company has been positioned as a key player in advancing
eco-friendly alternatives, offering solutions tailored to the food service,
courier, and manufacturing sectors. Sustainability has been at the core of our
operations from the very beginning.
He added, "We anticipated
the shift towards environmentally conscious practices and built our business
model around providing high-quality, customizable packaging that supports
Jamaica’s vision for a plastic-free future."
Boxpert targets businesses of all sizes who
need access to locally manufactured, durable, and biodegradable packaging
options.
By producing products
domestically, the company reduces reliance on imports and supports local
economic growth while helping businesses transition seamlessly away from
plastic, the company indicates.
Jamaica's journey towards
eliminating single-use plastics began in 2019, with bans on plastic bags,
straws, and Styrofoam. The latest restriction marks a significant step in
reducing the nation’s environmental footprint.

Boxpert currently manufactures
lunch containers in 1400ml,1500ml and 750ml with variations including single
and double compartment.
