Advensus BPO, launches US$6 million centre in Trinidad

Advensus, a contact center and business process outsourcing (BPO) services company, announced the launch of a US$6 million delivery facility in Chaguanas, Trinidad on February 12, 2025. The company is targeting among 1000 hires, including among staff benefits a lactation room for nursing mothers.

"Trinidad is fertile ground for access to professional talent, top-level English capabilities, and neutral accents for nearshore customer service delivery," said Thomas Oronti, CEO of Advensus."

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in the Dominican Republic, Advensus has five facilities in Santo Domingo, collectively housing over 5,000 seats. Advensus specializes in customer service, inbound and outbound sales, collections, technical support, and various back-office functions.

The company offers its services in both English and Spanish.

The company in its media release said that Trinidad's 1.38 million population “boasts high levels of English proficiency and is renowned for its professional work ethic.”

Furthermore, it was stated, as a relatively new industry in Trinidad, BPO employee attrition is lower than in locations with more established outsourcing backgrounds.

“In terms of infrastructure, the country has well-maintained roads, minimal traffic congestion, five undersea fiber cables, and a fiber optic distribution system that covers close to 100% of its populated areas,” it was noted.

Located in west-central Trinidad, Chaguanas has a population of 84,000 and benefits from good transportation links and 25 post-secondary education institutions.

The Chaguanas facility, for a total investment of US$6 million includes a 4,000-square-meter facility with three floors; 800 workstations , “custom-designed cubicles, high-end hot food cafeteria, games room and lactation room, acoustic rubber carpeting, high-efficiency air conditioning systems and a 100-vehicle car park.”

"We refurbished the building with employee experience, security, and PCI and HIPAA compliance top-of-mind," said Oronti. " He is targeting 1000 hires in 18 months.
