Amber connect expands in India, investing US$1.6 million
Amber Connect, a Jamaica-based provider of vehicle tracking and telematics solutions, is set to expand its operations in Coimbatore, India.
Its new project is a new 4,000-seat office dedicated to developing vehicle telematics software for global markets. US$1.6 million will be invested in the facility, which is currently under construction and is expected to open by the end of 2025.
Dushyant Savadia , Founder & CEO of Amber Group, started the company as a one room operation in Kingston, Jamaica with a single hardware and consumer mobile app.
Amber Connect now has offices in 11 countries across the globe. These are Jamaica, the United States, South Africa, India, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Namibia, Botswana and Iraq.
Savadia said that Amber Connect will partner with leading automotive manufacturers and distributors in India to integrate advanced telematics and fleet management solutions into vehicles.
The company has set revenue targets of Rs 100 crore in India and Rs 500 crore globally within the next two years. With a current global revenue of US$15 million, Amber Connect aims to install its telematics solutions on over 200,000 vehicles in the coming years, it was noted
Tracking features offered now number over 40 including real time vehicle tracking (with 1 second refresh) and an A.I. powered ‘smart shield’ that assigns ‘protective’ zones for added safety.
Amber Connect works with a network of partners across the globe, including Amazon and Walmart in the U.S., Fidelity in South Africa and Importel in Canada.
The company says it plans to o create 400 new jobs in 2025, with plans to hire a total of 1,000 professionals over the next two years.
Right now, the company indicates, the Coimbatore office is home to 1,200 employees working in areas such as product development, software engineering, operational support, sales, logistics, demand generation, data science, and AI.
Amber Connect has installed its fleet management system with SSVM Schools Group in South India, in nearly 500 vehicles between Coimbatore and Bangalore.
