Kintyre makes US$300,000 investment in Sevens Ice

Tyrone Wilson Chairman, President and CEO Kintyre Holdings (JA) Limited (KHL) and Seven Kingston Limited, owners of the Seven Ultra Lounge and Restaurant, on January 14 announced a joint venture to launch Sevens Ice.

Kintyre Holdings has made an investment in excess of US$300,000 in acquiring an associate stake in Seven and also establishing the start-up for the ice venture. "This initiative addresses Jamaica’s growing demand for high-quality ice, with operations set to begin in Q1 2025," Wilson stated.

Additionally, the venture has acquired a cold storage facility to manage its start-up capacity and is exploring the importation of ice to bridge the gap between demand and supply, ensuring a consistent and reliable market presence.

Distribution Expansion

Wilson said that Sevens Ice has secured a distribution point in Kingston and is in the process of setting up another in St. Catherine to serve the western and central parts of the island. This expansion will ensure broader market coverage and improve accessibility for customers in those regions.

Leadership

Nicole Masters has been appointed General Manager to lead Sevens Ice and oversee operations at Seven Ultra Lounge, which is currently undergoing refurbishment.

Wilson said, “With over 16 years of experience in Marketing and Sales, Nicole has successfully led initiatives that increased sales, expanded product offerings, and strengthened market presence. Her extensive background also includes roles at Coldfield Manufacturing Ltd., where she worked with brands like Big Jo Box Drinks and Pure Country Juices. These experiences have equipped her with deep expertise in the food and beverage industry, making her an exceptional leader for this venture.”

Kintyre indicates that the venture has secured supply agreements with major restaurants and event organizers, “and has already established strong relationships with a number of prominent events and dining establishments, ensuring robust market demand.”

“This partnership has also opened up a new market for Kintyre Holdings and Seven Kingston Limited, expanding their portfolio into manufacturing and distribution,” stated Wilson.

He concluded, “This joint venture with Seven Kingston Limited represents a significant step forward in Kintyre Holdings’ commitment to diversifying our operations and delivering value to the Jamaican market. By combining our strategic capabilities with Seven Kingston’s strong hospitality brand, we are well-positioned to address the growing demand for reliable, high-quality ice while creating lasting opportunities for growth.”

Donald Young, Founder and Director of Seven Kingston Limited commented, “At Seven Kingston Limited, we are more than a restaurant; we are a lifestyle and hospitality brand. Partnering with Kintyre Holdings allows us to extend our reach into manufacturing and distribution, complementing our core operations. This initiative underscores our shared commitment to innovation and meeting the needs of the Jamaican market.”
