Lasco Manufacturing reports $1.9 billion in net profit at nine months
Lasco Manufacturing Limited reported, for the nine months ended December 31, 2024, net profit of J$1.94 billion, an increase of 14 per cent over the similar period in 2023.
Profit was made on revenues of $9.5 billion, up three per cent year over year.
Net profit for the third quarter was $662.47 million, an increase of 16.6 per cent, made on revenues of $3.29 billion, itself up 2.5 per cent year over year.
Operating from White Marl in St. Catherine Lasco Manufacturing (LASM) was incorporated in October 1994 through the merger of LASCO Foods (Successors) Limited and LASCO Foods Limited.
Sixteen years later, In October 2010, the company became publicly listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
LASM is now a major pharmaceutical distributor representing several multinational pharmaceutical companies. Led by Chairman and Founder, Lascelles Chin, the LASMED range of products were officially launched in 2001 being medical products to treat illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, cancer and HIV.
In partnership with the Ministry of Health, by 2003 the antiretroviral drugs were introduced for persons living with HIV/AIDS at one-tenth the price of competing brands.
Lasco is also a producer of nutritious powdered beverages in Jamaica (under the LASCO Brand), and in n 2014 entered liquid refreshing beverages and water categories of the market under the iCool brand. It also produces the LASM line of generic drugs and feminine hygiene products under the Curve brand.
2010, the company became publicly listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
In partnerships with multinational pharmaceutical companies, Lasco Manufacturing offer a diverse range pharmaceuticals distributing products to pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and health centres across the country.
